wind phone 03:00
springtime when all the flowers speak your name a still rabbit in the grass turns its head shock of two eyes she finds a hole in the fence trees sharpen their shadows as the sun bears down you can look into the light and see why you shouldn’t sing a mournful tune like a dog on a hill we call to each other through the ether still there is a phone booth in japan that overlooks the ocean in the dark i see the half smile of the moon the birds are bragging about their latest party i was alive for you were you alive for me? branches look like black construction paper cutouts you can’t see the wind but you can see what it does sing a mournful tune like a dog on a hill we call to each other through the ether still there is a phone booth in japan that overlooks the ocean one way conversations with dead loved ones

we walk down the main drag cars go too fast, kfc smells good it’s too cold now for ice cream but there’s always that one guy standing outside the dairy queen the wind it shoves the leaves around you say "everything is fiction if you write it down" we go on arm in arm you kept the ashes of your first dog in a music box that played beatles songs i stared at posters of boy bands pretended they were my boyfriends we see a broken bird bath on the lawn a crack in the neck of a white ceramic swan the roots of a tree push up through the sidewalk you ask good questions and talk with your hands a lot you say "all broken things have beauty in them or whatever that thing is leonard cohen said" we go on arm in arm

disaster 03:28
a pretty girl looked me in the eye she said she wanted to be friends what a coincidence she asked me to come over we sat on the floor and talked music for hours tried to make sense of "big fish little fish" in the song "down by the water" glad i asked her man i feel alright what a fetching disaster can you feel it? she showed me things i’d never seen like the inside of her mouth and a journal of her dreams and a tooth from when she was little and the bones of a mouse that died and a letter she never mailed because the ink ran where she cried glad i asked her man i feel alright what a fetching disaster can you feel it? she kept this thing in a glass jar the water it sat in was murky i could be wrong i often am but i think it may have been a baby she kept the ashes of her first dog in a music box that played beatles songs i stared at posters of boy bands pretended they were my boyfriends glad i asked her man i feel alright what a fetching disaster can you feel it?

about

RADIO BABY is a double album we are releasing as two volumes simultaneously (it was too cost prohibitive to do a proper gatefold double album). Inspired by the 1970s but filtered through our alt-rock lens, these songs are like little drive in movies you can dance to. This is Volume 1.
