i came to hear the band. i really dig the sound. i’m ghosting near the back and i’m gonna leave before they turn the lights on. you’re leaning against the bar, waiting to order a drink. someone calls to you from behind; it’s an old friend you haven’t seen in awhile. and i hope you’re happy now, but i don't want to see you anymore anyhow. and i know i’m gonna get over it. i guess i’m just not ready yet. you’re laughing with your friend. you put your mouth close to her ear. trying to be heard over the bass. this club always needed a better sound engineer. the ice melts in my glass. i’m trying to focus on the girl playing guitar. i want to leave but I can't: you’re facing the door. and i hope you’re happy now, but i don't want to see you anymore anyhow. and i know i’m gonna get over it. i guess i’m just not ready yet.
